The Individual Object 101: Privacy & Consent Management By Pete Thurston
As of the Spring ’18 release, Salesforce is offering the Individual Object—a new object that allows you to better accommodate privacy preferences and consent regarding personal information, helping address concerns like GDPR and CCPA. Follow these steps to implement the Individual Object in your organization.
• Discover and manage the personal information being stored or processed inside your Salesforce org.
• Provide effective support for Individual rights and controls (e.g. Data Subject Requests, Right to be Forgotten, Portability, etc.).
• Quickly and easily understand which users have what level of access to specific records and why, including the ability to view field level access
Pete has spent over 15 years at the intersection of Business and Technology. He has worn many hats (often at the same time) throughout his career including Data Analyst, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Software Engineer, Team Leader, QA Engineer and probably several others he’s forgotten. Out of all of this, he’s discovered his passion is really in identifying simple and effective applications of technology to the problems all businesses face. This has driven his leadership of the technology team as Chief Product & Services Officer at RevCult since day one and has proven to be enjoyable, sustainable and productive for the company. Pete has had the privilege of being part of Dreamforce “Session Intuit Implements Shield Platform Encryption in Record Time”, Midwest Dreaming '18 Session "Salesforce Shield -Quick Wins to Ensure Long Term Security", Salesforce Guest Blogs, a guest on Salesforce Webinars and leads RevCult's Salesforce Security and Governance Webinar Series.
